A Strong Leader will clear the way for its people, guiding them towards the bigger picture!

Administrative and logistical clutter along with a lack of or in many cases no communication results in employees not being able to reach their fullest potential in the workplace.

    This can be for a number of reasons, here are just a few that I have felt and experienced within my working life and I'm sure there will be many more;

    • Lack of Confidence

    • Feeling Isolated

    • Over-worked/stretched

    • External Pressures

    • Lack of Knowledge

    • Feeling Frustrated

    • Over-whelmed

    • Out of your Depth

    • Conflict with Collegues

    • Misunderstandings

    • Assumptions

    • Lack of Motivation

    • Lack of Trust

    • Lack of Team Spirit

    • Work Related Stress

If you are leading a team that are not delivering results or acheiving the roles set out for them then it's time to ask yourself some questions…

If I ask you to tell me why you feel your team aren't performing, where would you point your finger … If your not doing it, try it now point your finger out  and then notice the three fingers pointing back to you, now that's got you thinking, hasn't it!

As a leader you can also put this question to the people in your team, as it will help them to see that the outcomes they desire are more within their control than they think.

Wasting our energies on external factors and influences that we have no control over will limit our ability to be successful. Unlearning all that we have been taught about the way we should be rather than just being is enough to unlock our creativity and ability to see the bigger picture.

The fact is when we internalise our focus on the things that we can control we move forward, things begin to flow and when one person in the team demonstrates this the rest will start to follow.

It can be far too easy to get caught up in head that you forget to check in with yourself and your people.  This is where communication tends to break down and your employees start to feel under-valued.

"A company is people. Employees want to know - am I being listened to or am I a cog in the wheel? People really need to feel wanted" Richard Branson

As a leader if you have clarity and confidence in your vision then your people will follow your lead. They will choose to go the extra mile as they know it's appreciated.

Having clear and simple structures in place can help you to keep your communication flowing smoothly through-out the organisation.
